Hi, my name is Apryl Plageman, married mother of four children ages 16 - 27 yrs old. This home business is solely owned and operated by me, with a little help by my husband, Walt.
I started sewing early in life, making items beside my mom. As an adult, I started to offer outfits as gifts, and for special request to fit rare dolls that neighbors owned. My custom made outfits took many hours of work, and were far more expensive to create than the typical collector doll outfits of today. My ability to make a few outfits in a week could not keep up with the demand, but I did enjoy the extra income I was getting at the time. Then, in or about 1989, I began a more serious venture by combining manufactured and handmade items in local craft shows and "Tupperware" type parties in my neighborhood.
Ten years later, I discovered that I could become a seller on a newly formed 'ebay' auction service. I soon realized my handmade items could not compete successfully against mass manufactured items imported by others. Although my handmade quality was better than those imports, it was nearly impossible to market that feature on 'sight alone' shopping via the internet. So I dropped the intensive effort of handmade items and focused on mostly manufactured items.
Today, most all of my offerings are top quality imports that meet my customer's quality & pricing needs. I do still make a just few items entirely by hand, like the pantaloms, slips, and a few other items, but almost 99% of the items you will find on this web store are purchased from my selected wholesale sources. You will see that these products are equal or better than the top quality product that you would expect from companies that specialize in such collectable clothing, and accessories.
